Nightmare Night [SFM] review

I forgot to review this one! So here's the gorgeous new SFM animation from Ferexes! But what's so great about it? Find out below!

Ferexes is one of my favourite animators. I saw his newest, "Nightmare Night [SFM]" a few days ago, but forgot to review it. So here's the review now: It's fantastic.

Unlike BronyDanceParty's also great take on it, this is more of a crossover with some TF2 characters. You have a Scout using dark magic, with some amazing animation, and the Mane Six plus Vinyl Scratch and WoodenToaster's OC, which look equally fantastic. However, many of the things that are great about this video are things it has in common with BronyDanceParty's, although they're done better here. It's more exciting, has more of a narrative, and yet manages to keep that music video feeling.

Now, let's get into the details of why it looks so gorgeous: Ferexes basically takes full advantage of SFM's potential. He fills his videos to the brim with small details, all of which are fluidly animated. His lighting is also great, and as such the visuals are accented and shadowed in such a way as to make them look even better than they already do. Nightmare Night is one of his best yet. Predictably, it's a feast for the eyes, in all the ways mentioned. Ferexes never disappoints.

This is possibly one of the best PMVs of the year. Like BronyDanceParty's Nightmare Night video, it's entertaining and well-animated, but this one also has the benefit of even more gorgeous visuals than that one. It's definitely worth checking out.
