Returning to Twilight's Kingdom

Back in my first review, I named 'Twilight's Kingdom' my favourite My Little Pony episode ever. That statement still holds, in spite of some of the episode's faults. 

Second take: Princess Twilight Sparkle

So, um, I was watching this, and I found myself having a lot new to say.

Second chance: Inspiration Manifestation

Finally, an episode that has grown better with a second chance.

Second chance: Maud Pie

This is a little more like it, but ultimately I just don't get it.

Second chance: Somepony to Watch Over Me

My intention was that I'd like these episodes MORE after watching them again, not less. Why does this keep happening?

Second chance: It Ain't Easy Being Breezies

So this didn't go very well.

Second chance: Rainbow Falls

I'm actually doing this one for the opposite reason of most.

Second chance: Pinkie Apple Pie

Now THIS is what I'm talking about!

Second chance: Flight to the Finish

After having finally gone through the first three seasons again, I'm gonna be giving second chances to certain episodes of S4 that I might have not given a fair enough shake the first time around. First up we have "Flight to the Finish", an episode that initially failed to leave much of an impact on me whatsoever.

Retrospective review: Magical Mystery Cure

I actually wouldn't call it the worst episode of the show, but it's the one that makes me the angriest.

What a wasted opportunity.

Some of its approaches are flawed, but it's too much of a riot not to love.

One of the most beloved episodes of the third season, and there's a reason for that.

A fairly strong entry into the third season.

Interesting elements, but flawed characterization.

Once upon a time, this was one of my favourite episodes, but as much as I enjoy it, I see it has a lot of problems.

The pinnacle of the series. An outstanding achievement that raises the bar almost unfairly high.

Charming... though, not really much else.

Notorious as it may be, I think it's excellent.

Damn near perfect.

This season's Spike episode contains strong character development, as usual.

My Little Pony: Equestria Girls - Rainbow Rocks review

The first "Equestria Girls", released in 2013, was a film which I enjoyed in spite of its many, many faults. Thus, I was delighted to find that the vast majority of them were corrected in its sequel.

Another episode that only grows more enjoyable every time I watch it.

An episode which boasts an exciting story-within-a-story and a relatable conflict.

Really not one of the stronger episodes.

One of the best episodes of the season, hands-down.

Retrospective review: Baby Cakes

This episode's plenty of fun, and provides some excellent themes.

Retrospective review: Family Appreciation Day

A pretty fun episode with some neat character elements.

Retrospective review: Hearth's Warming Eve

Uncommonly ambitious, but that does open the door for unique flaws.

Retrospective review: Secret of My Excess

A funny, entertaining episode with a neat moral. 

Retrospective review: Sweet and Elite

This is My Little Pony at its best. A wonderful episode. 

Retrospective review: The Mysterious Mare-Do-Well

Aside from some attractive visuals, this episode is more or less the worst thing ever.

Retrospective review: May the Best Pet Win!

A highly entertaining episode that rarely falters. 

Retrospective review: The Cutie Pox

A fun but shallow filler episode driven by annoying characters.

Retrospective review: Sisterhooves Social

An episode that has some good character development with flawed execution.

Retrospective review: Luna Eclipsed

Another episode hurt by a bad moral, but it's really fun despite that.

Retrospective review: Lesson Zero

Really, really, really good.

Retrospective review: The Return of Harmony

It's the season finale, and oh man is it wonderful.

We're almost done with the first season, which means it's time for one of the best episodes in the entire series.
